The two session course is scheduled for September 6 & 7, 2008. Class runs 10-4 on Saturday, 1-4 on Sunday.

Class is held at the Weaving Room (room 300) at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 1207 Peabody at Bellvue, Memphis (map).

Participants will learn the basics of loom weaving. Start with an empty loom. Learn to read a draft, prepare a warp, thread the loom, and weave a sampler with at least four different patterns.

The $65.00 fee covers materials and use of equipment, and includes membership in the Memphis Guild of Handloom Weavers for the 2008-2009 year. Guild members participate in monthly programs and intensive workshops, have unlimited use of the guild library, and access to assorted weaving equipment.

Bring a lunch; beverages and snacks will be provided.
