Projects from the rigid Heddle loomHand-manipulated lace on the loomFelicitas showed us how simple and versatile rigid heddle looms are. Three looms were set up with plain weave, color & weave effects and hand-manipulated lace which she demonstrated and invited everyone to try. She presented samples of several projects done on these looms, discussed other weaving options and gave us a survey of the rigid heddle looms currently on the market.

The Ashford Book of Rigid Heddle Weaving has been added to our library. We also have Hands on Rigid Heddle Weaving and the video Rigid Heddle Weaving, Level 1

Linda Weghorst's Tapestry Weaving Workshop Friday-Sunday January 26-28, 2006 was three days of great instruction, inspiration, hard work and learning for fourteen lucky participants. Weavers started out learning how to set up a warp properly, handle a bobbin and place weft yarns. Day two included a multitude of blending and joining techniques. The workshop was rounded out with shape weaving, following a cartoon, design considerations, finishing and a bonus of weaving with beads. Thank you Linda for sharing your extensive talent and knowledge with future tapestry weavers.
